Digital spaces are great ways to send messages quickly and encourage interaction with the use of social media. Strategy is key to ensuring that all online channels work in harmony to really strengthen your brand. Using a proprietary CMS, I content managed Quitline's website. Creating new content and optimising other content for search engines. During my time, the website was a finalist in the 2013 Plain English Awards for online content.

Facebook played an important role in communicating with the public. We used the page to promote events and encourage people to share their quitting journey with others. I created these images to post on the wall (the two square ones above) and to decorate our header banner (the rectangle image) using InDesign and Photoshop. The square images allowed users to easily see the image on our wall and "like" or "share" it. I was also responsible for writing copy for social media and replying to any use

After setting up Quitline's YouTube account, I moderated any posts on the videos that were uploaded.

Website development

Website development

During my time at Quitline I helped to redevelop their national website of 30,000 registered members. I was responsible for translating new service requirements into a usable online service that clients would use when they logged in. The project was completed in the tight timeframe of two months and the results saw engagement in the website double. The two examples above show two different 'skins' that clients can choose to customise their page - a new feature of the redevelopment.

I am familiar with a wide range of social member and I am an active member of many of these in my personal time. This includes Pinterest, Twitter, Meetup, Storify, LinkedIn, Reddit, Spotify, to name a few.

Web metrics together with usability testing can be used to see how to improve a website. I self-taught myself Google Analytics to evaluate Quitline's website and have a certificate in Google Analytics fundamentals.

Having experience in HTML has enabled me to tweak HTML emails and customise websites. The above image is from an email template that was created in InDesign and added to an HTML template.

To promote upcoming events, Quitline would change their email signature to suit. This signature was used during the Christmas period. I am also able to create HTML template emails with branded designs.
